ADAM GOES COUNTRY!
In addition to our more rock and blues based daytime output, we are of course now adding variety by broadcasting more specialist programmes during weekday evenings and at weekends. Adam Hipkin has now launched a new series for fans of country music. There is no doubt that this genre fits well into our REAL MUSIC policy and a previous 'Americana' series by Ken Brown proved to be a big success. 
Listen in to 'Adam's Cream Of Country' on Monday nights from 11.00pm, and on Fridays at 9.00pm.

Brand New Show Starts in a Week from PETE CREW

A NEW SHOW STARTS A WEEK TODAY!
The countdown is on for the launch of a brand new live show for The Flash. From next Thursday 14th June Peter Crew will be bringing you 'Scene & Heard' between 2.00 and 4.00pm. This new show is part of our development as a community broadcaster in advance of the future launch of our FM service to the Waterlooville area. Pete will be telling you more about this exciting new show in due course, but make sure you are listening in next Thursday to catch it all if you can.

Positive pathways ITS VOLUNTEERS WEEK

VOLUNTEERS WEEK (Friday 1st June - Thursday 7th June)
This afternoon I had the pleasure of recording a programme with Kat Baseley of Positive Pathways. Kat joined me to chat about the benefits of volunteering and how Positive Pathways can help those wishing to become a volunteer in our local community. Kat also shared 5 of her favourite songs with me. You can hear this programme tomorrow (Friday 1st June) at 12.00 noon, with a repeat on Sunday at 9.00pm.

FANTASTIC NEWS!!
I would like to tell you all that The Flash have been successful in our application to offer an FM Community Radio broadcast licence for the Waterlooville area. You can see here the first part of an e-mail from Ofcom informing me of the good news. I would like to thank our dedicated and talented team for all their hard work, Ash Elford and Tony Smith of Angel Radio for their support, Alan Beech for his assistance, Park Community School, Waterlooville Library, all the community groups and local businesses who supported our application, and not forgetting our fantastic listeners who support us so much and make all the hard work worthwhile. 
There is lots of work to be done, funding to be raised and equipment to be purchased before we can launch our service, but we will keep you posted on our progress.

JORDAN TAKES TO THE AIRWAVES!

Jordan Grattan today completed his period of work experience with The Flash through Havant & Southdowns College. During his short time with us he has planned and produced his first radio show. It runs for 35 minutes and will be aired tomorrow (Friday) evening at 6.00pm, and with another chance to hear it on Sunday at 12.00noon. 
Myself and Peter Crew were really impressed with his work, and he is very keen to present more shows for us in the future and may even help by compiling and presenting live traffic bulletins every now and again during our 'Drive Time' shows.

New Presenter Alert Jordan Grattan

A FLASH WELCOME FOR JORDAN!
Today we welcomed Jordan Grattan to our Havant studio. Jordan is with us this week on work experience from Havant & Southdowns College. Following my introduction to our work environment and health & Safety matters, Peter Crew ran through the different forms of radio and some tips on programme planning. Jordan will be planning and producing a 30 minute programme while he is with us so watch this space!.
