Chas gave us some amazing stories about when he played Bass for the BEATLES

Clip from Wikipedia:
Charles Newby (born 18 June 1941, Blackpool) is a British musician who was (briefly) the bassist for The Beatles for several gigs in December of 1960, while Stuart Sutcliffe was still in Hamburg.
When The Beatles returned from West Germany for the first time, they were short of a bass guitarist. Pete Best suggested Chas Newby. Newby had been with The Black Jacks (Pete Best's group), and was now attending university, but was on holiday and so agreed to play with The Beatles.
He appeared with them for four engagements in December 1960 (17 December, Casbah Club, Liverpool; 24 December, Grosvenor Ballroom, Liscard; 27 December, Litherland Town Hall; 31 December, Casbah Club). John Lennon asked him to go to West Germany for the Beatles' second trip, but he chose to return to university and after Lennon and George Harrison both declined to switch to bass guitarPaul McCartney, who previously played guitar and piano, reluctantly became the band's bassist.

THE FLASH GET TOGETHER JULY 2018

A Nice little turn out, not everyone could make it but a few familiar face/Voices were there and Nice to See Russ and his Wife Pauline from Russ Motorcycle tyres.

It was long overdue and about time The Flash team got together to celebrate our recent award of an FM Community Radio Licence for the Greater Waterlooville area and also be celebrating our 6th Birthday, as The Flash first came on air as an internet service at 4pm on Sunday 15th July 2012
It all took place at The Red Lion Hotel in London Road, Cosham, PO6 3EE, starting at 7.00pm. Just a great a chat over a few drinks , and getting updated on the latest news about our growing radio station.
Happy Days, here comes FM

A Breath Of Fresh air and a New Voice and face to Radio

ANNA ON THE AIR!
Anna Merel is a 17 year old student from Havant & Southdowns College and she has been spending some time with us on work experience. During this period she has planned, recorded and edited a programme for us. The Flash has so far been associated with classic rock and blues, but are in the process of making our station more accessible to a younger audience too. Anna and other students are playing an important part in this process and by introducing us to the musician led music of today. It would be great to hear more from Anna as she is very keen to search for the more obscure music that other stations may miss. You can hear Anna's programme this Friday 13th July at 6.00pm, and have a second chance to enjoy it, on Sunday at 12.00 noon.

Why NOT advertise on the Radio

This works out as little as £1.80 per day. Just £50 per month for a professionally produced advert, getting your message across to the Local Area of Havant and Portsmouth on DAB+ Radio and online

Its all gone a bit YEA HA

ADAM GOES COUNTRY!
In addition to our more rock and blues based daytime output, we are of course now adding variety by broadcasting more specialist programmes during weekday evenings and at weekends. Adam Hipkin has now launched a new series for fans of country music. There is no doubt that this genre fits well into our REAL MUSIC policy and a previous 'Americana' series by Ken Brown proved to be a big success.
Listen in to 'Adam's Cream Of Country' on Monday nights from 11.00pm, and on Fridays at 9.00pm.
