Wow we were all blown away with the Talent of Katy Hurt in the Studio, as usual Chris Rogers gave us a great interview with Katy playing lots of her tracks from her Latest Album. Find out more about Katy at her Website www.katyhurt.com
What the listeners didn't hear was the small bursts of her vocals singing along to her music Off AIR. She hopes to pop back in the studio in the Future with the Band for an acoustic set and we all look forward to that. The Flash thanks her for popping in and making over an hours Journey to be with us.

Moi at The Flash On Air radio show 🎧 yesterday with Martin Kirby. I played two live songs, my first single Strategies, and a version of my next single Flower, recorded especially for the show.
Martin also premiered the release version of Flower 🌷 which is out to stream and download on all digital platforms on Jan 11 at 0:00am.
And I got to play some of my favourite songs, including My Bloody Valentine, Suzanne Vega and my unreleased 'glitter.mix' of Taylor Swift's 'Love Story'.
Both my singles are now in rotation at the station, so will get regular airplay from all their DJs ❤️.
Really enjoyed meeting Martin (he plyed me with lager which didn't hurt) , these guys are all volunteers and clearly love what they do, and music in general. The DJs get to choose their own songs (unlike most commercial radio) and there are almost no ads. You can listen on DAB in the greater Portsmouth area, or online at http://theflashonair.co.uk
Hope to go back at some point (if you missed the show I have a recording)...

Happy New Year from All the Team
Yet another exciting year ahead of us, thank you to all that have made it happen in 2018 and especially the Listeners. Yes its going to be a big year for the Flash, funds are trickling in from some great and generous supporters but we could do with a little more of a push and some help to reach our Target of £4000 to purchase the equipment and installation for FM. We have already put lots of time effort and Funds raised into getting the Licence go ahead, so we are half way there. To everyone with a connection to THE FLASH Happy New Year 2019

The Flash Team Get Together Christmas 2018
Yet another fantastic get together for many of the Flash Presenters, we really don't do it enough.
A few faces that match the voices were unable to make it and we missed them very much, one day maybe all the presenters will merge like a FLASH from the storm.
It really is an opportunity for the team to have a real good chat about music, life and experiences they have at the station, many of the team don't see each other as their paths never cross although the flash broadcasts 24/7.
Its was lovely having new presenters faces in attendance and a couple of listeners too, listeners are always welcome to come along to the events and more than welcome as always to contact the station via email or Facebook
It really was a great turn out, one of the best we would say.
Thank you for Listening and the Team Wishes everyone a Fantastic Christmas
Here's looking forward to being on FM in the New Year

PLEASE HELP US BY DONATING GO FUND ME
The Waterlooville area is growing all the time and we strongly feel that it deserves to have its own station on FM. Ofcom have already awarded us with the FM licence, but as a small group we would really appreciate help so we can purchase the tools to do the job.
Every penny raised will go towards the purchase and installation of the transmission equipment required before we can launch on FM.
The Flash is a local not for profit radio station which has been serving the South Hampshire area as an internet station since 2012, and became available on DAB (Digital Radio) to the Portsmouth area in August 2015. We are a dedicated team of volunteers who are focussed on promoting the talents of bands, musicians and singer/songwriters in the local area, and the importance of the local music scene in our communities. There are many independent volunteers and charities who achieve so much in our local area and The Flash will also continue to promote all that is positive within the area that we serve.
While the internet and DAB are great platforms with increasing listenership, many radio listeners still find FM the most accessible, and we have the experience and dedication to be able to make a difference on FM in the Waterlooville area.
PLEASE GIVE US A HELPING HAND BY GIVING A DONATION TODAY!.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and please check out our website at www.theflashonair.co.uk . You can hear us in the Portsmouth and Waterlooville area’s on DAB radio, and via Tunein.

PARK COMMUNITY SCHOOL MUNCH This Christmas Day
MUNCH Click the Link for the Video
Stuart Holmes in the studio telling us all about Park community school MUNCH . Find out all about the Christmas Day lunch at the school by visiting their website.
As a school we were aware of the food poverty that some of our community experience and were concerned our students were going hungry. This was reinforced when our local community told us how the food bank was consistently running out of food. We set up a community group to tackle food poverty in our area and in April 2017 MUNCH was born.

This was reinforced when our local community told us how the food bank was consistently running out of food. We set up a community group to tackle food poverty in our area and in April 2017 MUNCH was born.
We successfully contacted external agencies for funding and MUNCH is now in operation supplying nutritious 2 course meals and activities for children and their families attending any Leigh Park school during the school holidays. Play equipment is provided, along with learning practitioners, who help our guests learn via play encouraging learning of vital maths and English skills. Our school nurse is also on hand, on a drop in basis for any concerns parents may have.
Our vision for MUNCH is to develop a sustainable local social enterprise by establishing a community food shop and café. This will provide volunteering and employment opportunities, as well as a casual meeting and eating venue to reduce social isolation – watch this space for more details.
We work in partnership with organisations who have excess food which otherwise would go into landfill . This helps to fill our MUNCH fridge in the Dickinson Centre. This is always fully stocked with emergency food for local families who are most in need.
We have expanded MUNCH to both Thursday nights and Sunday lunches. 2 course Sunday lunches start monthly from Sunday 25th March and Thursday nights meals start weekly from Thursday March 29th.

Listener in the Studio Ian Dunkley
THE JUKEBOX PARTY CONTINUES AS THE FLASH GOES OFF AIR!
Last night I had the pleasure of being joined by a long time Flash listener, after he e-mailed me about reception problems in Old Portsmouth. Ian Dunkley was probably surprised when I replied by inviting him to join me on air to share his 8 most favourite rock tracks. He had so much fun that he is now keen to join The Flash team as a presenter.
Unfortunately we were hit with technical problems just 10 minutes after the show started and went off air on both DAB and internet stream, however our intrepid engineer Richard Setford did manage to get us back on air for the final 25 minutes of the programme.
I am pleased to say that the studio party continued in spite of these problems, and the full show will be broadcast this coming Friday evening at 6.00pm. I sometimes forget to take studio photo's of my guests but simply could not let Ian leave before I snatched an image of his very impressive shirt. Thanks Ian and we look forward to hearing more from you in the future, and probably with music almost as loud as his shirt!.
